Lorimer Grant Morton graduated from medicine at the University of Melbourne in 1931. He joined the Australian Army in 1940, as a Captain with the 4th Australian General Hospital. Promoted to Major by war’s end, and stayed with the Army Medical Corps until the middle of 1946.

At the time of application for fellowship, Morton was Senior Anaesthetist at the Alfred Hospital, Senior Visiting Anaesthetist at the Royal Children’s Hospital, and Visiting Anaesthetist at the Repatriation Hospital in Melbourne. He was also a foundation member of the Faculty in 1952.

Lorimar Grant Morton was elected to fellowship in 1955.
